About Alice Cooper
Their move to California in the late 60s, after adopting the name Alice Cooper (named after a 17th century witch) has proved a turning point in the band's career. Alice Cooper met their manager to be Shep Gordon and the odd genius musician Frank Zappa, who signed them to record deal. It would be only with their move to Detroit that they reached any sort of commercial success as they further developed their heavy metal style in their music and appearance.
