About Beth Gibbons
Beth Gibbons met Geoff Barrow in the early 90s and together they have authored two albums under the name of Portishead. The band has taken trip-hop to new realms, both artistically, with its eerie and sensual music and in the sense of commercial success, reaching the American market like other bands from Bristol never have. It is largely due to Beth Gibbons' signature singing voice and style that this was made possible at all.
