About Bronski Beat
Bronski Beat were founded in 1983 by three gay musicians who shared an apartment in London. With the counter-tenor voice of lead singer Jimmy Somerville, the band's singles reached the top 5 on the UK charts time and again. When Somerville left Bronski Beat for a more political music career, the band replaced him with other singers but was never able to repeat its early success.
