About Chet Baker
Unlike his father who was a guitarist but had to work in other jobs to feed his family, Chet Baker played the trumpet for a living. Enjoying mass-scale success and being able to fund not only his life but also a serious and tragic drug addiction. Chet Baker found himself alongside Stan Getz at an early stage in his career, them behind Charlie Parker soon then after, before breaking out with his version of My Funny Valentine, which would become the best known version of all.
