About Chic
Not only was the world of disco, already commercialized and over-produced at the time, was shocked and stirred by the appearance of Chic, but so was hip hop and even the punk scene, both still young at the time and welcoming outside influences. The two main musicians behind Chic who played guitar and bass and produced their own music inspired the punk rock scene with their Do It Yourself attitude and work ethic.
