Curtis Mayfield led the Impressions, one of the pioneering funk groups of the 60s, and then moved on into the 70s as a solo musician, with more urban and social commentary, political minded and yet brilliant funk music. Curtis Mayfield is the author of some of the greatest songs of the decade, with Superfly, It's All Right and Freddie's Dead.
