About Fiona Apple
Growing up in a musical family in New York, Fiona Apple learned to play the piano and sing as a young girl. Through friends she reached the ears of Sony Music executive Andy Slater, and was promptly singed on a record contract. Fiona Apple's debut Tidal sold about 3 million copies, but her public appearances following its success, namely at the 1997 MTV award ceremony, turned the media against her for a while, but never her fans' admiration.
