About Happy Mondays
With a reference right off the bat to New Order's song Blue Monday, the Happy Mondays came on the Manchester "Madchester" scene in 1985 along with such bands as the Stone Roses. The Happy Mondays were singed by pop genius manager Tony Wilson, even though they came in last at a battle of the bands contest which he attended. Their album, and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out) from 1987 would later be canonized as a turning point in the history of the alternative dance and rave scene.
