About Ice Cube
After leaving NWA, which he helped found in Los Angeles, Ice Cube moved to New york to record his debut solo album. In a time that rap received growing interest by mainstream and other interest groups, Ice Cube was both fortunate to find new fans and unfortunate to draw criticism to his lyrics, accusing him of misogyny and racism. Ice cube used this newfound publicity to step over to the big screen, where his role in John Singleton's Boyz N the Hood was a successful first dip.
