About Ice T
Only a 1985 car crash would finally get Ice T out of the cycle of ghetto violence and dedicated to a career in rap. He was named this way after a famous ex-pimp who himself turned into an author. Ice T reminded his people of Iceberg Slim, hence the name and future self references of Ice T to himself as Iceberg. In this spirit, Ice T was the first to record and release songs that used the words nigga and ho, setting up the gangsta rap style for years to come.
