Though off the international music radars since the late 80s, having refused to sing more in English and insisting on sticking with his African traditional music, King Sunny Ade was still being followed by the world music community. Selling less abroad, King Sunny Ade was still a popular African musician, and his album Odu, a collection of traditional Yoruba songs, even received a Grammy Award nomination.
