Pioneer heavy metal band Megadeth, one of four leaders of the thrash metal style (along with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax), sold 40 million copies of its 10 studio albums and two live recordings. In 1992 Megadeth even earned a Grammy nomination, for their album Countdown to Extinction. The album, with the hit single Symphony of Destruction, peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200.
