About Midnight Oil
Initially called Farm, when founded in the early 70s, the Australian music group changed its name to Midnight Oil and from then on was known as the Oils to their fans. The fan base expanded dramatically in the early 80s, a decade that was not only the best for Midnight Oil in chart success in Australia but also internationally, via repeated MTV showings and openness to their politically-loaded pop music.
