R.E.M. reconvened during 1990 to record their seventh album, Out of Time, which was released in the spring of 1991. Its lead single, 'Losing My Religion,' became R.E.M. 's biggest single, reaching number four in the U.S. It has since become a pop standard and a classic. Out of Time became their biggest album, selling over four million copies in the U.S. and spending two weeks at the top of the charts.
