Switchfoot (former title: Chin Up) appeared in San Diego, CA in 1996. The band was founded by brothers Tim Foreman (bass) and Jonathan (vocals and guitar), and Chad Butler (drums). in 1997 the group issued its first album called The Legend of Chin, the full-length New Way to Be Human appeared in 1999.
